Ket Kev Attempts Grounding
Doctor Goose asks Kev to name five things he can see. The result raises more questions than answers.

Doctor Goose tries a grounding exercise with Ket Kev the Zebra at The Soggy Stool.
“Name five things you can see.”
Kev begins counting: “A zebra. A fan. You. A beer. A zebra.”
Goose pauses at the second zebra.
“That’s you.”
Kev studies his own stripes as if seeing them for the first time. “Bloody hell. That explains the stripes!”
Goose writes “needs more grounding” in his notes.
Behind the Disaster
The five-things-you-can-see exercise is one way to bring attention back to the present when someone feels anxious or disconnected.
Dissociation and intoxication can interfere with perception and attention. Grounding may help some people feel more oriented, but persistent or severe symptoms deserve professional assessment and support.
