Recovery Tip #2: Find a Healthy Hobby
Meffff embraces hobbies. Unfortunately, his interpretation involves knife throwing, fireworks and a model aircraft.

Meffff has been told that recovery works better when life contains something enjoyable besides the old chaos.
He hears “find a healthy hobby” and immediately surrounds himself with knives, fireworks, glue and a half-built model plane.
Doctor Goose clarifies that the word healthy was doing quite a lot of work in that sentence.
Behind the Disaster
Hobbies can add structure, pleasure and connection during recovery. The useful ones are sustainable, absorbing and reasonably safe. Replacing one high-risk behaviour with another may provide distraction, but it does not necessarily build stability.
